Both the metallic and the linen are a strandable 6 ply fiber. I use 4 ply of the linen on 18 count and up to 8 ply on 13 count. If you are going to stitch this fiber using long stitches, I would recommend stripping your fiber first. (Stripping means to pull all individual plies apart and then put them all back together.) By stripping the plies, the fiber will appear to be more full and give you better coverage. I find the metallic hard to stitch by itself; therefore I tend to use it as a blending filament. The more sparkle I want, the more plies I add. Don't forget to decrease the number of plies that the metallic is being added to or your thread will be too thick.
